PUTTING VEOTAG TO WORK - A "HOW TO" GUIDE TO

MAKING VIDEOS THAT "CLICK"

veotag TMAllows Anyone to Add "Clickable Text" to Nearly any Online Video - and, in the Process, Tell Viewers What's Inside the Video and Enable Them to Click Directly to What They Want to See

Eliminating Online Video Viewing Frustration is Now Simple

veotag (www.veotag.com), now in its beta phase, allows online video "authors" to improve viewers' experiences by eliminating the frustration of not knowing what's inside a video, navigating it and needing to watch the whole thing to find desired parts.

veotag lets online video authors write "clickable text" for nearly any video on the Web, free of charge. They can then share the "clickably enahanced" video with anyone - or everyone - online. The result is that audiences know what's in the video, and where, and can hop around to parts they want to see: They just click on text that describes the parts they're interested in.

Becoming the "Author" of a "veotagged" Video is Easy

  • veotag enables anyone with Web access to annotate - i.e., create a "clickable table of contents" for - any video, whether their own or one that they found on the Web.
  • The first step is logging onto www.veotag.com.
  • Once on the site, the video author provides veotag with the URL of the video she wants to annotate, or write clickable comments about. veotag then automatically locates the video and begins playing it on the author's screen in veotag's proprietary viewer.
  • Whenever the author wants to add a clickable comment, or "veotag," a place she wants viewers to be able to identify and access immediately, she stops the video and types comments into an adjacent window on the screen. (That window is part of the veotag viewer.)
  • Once the author has added all of her desired comments, she saves the "veotagged" video into her own veotag account.
  • veotag then provides the author with a unique veotag.com URL linked to the newly "clickably indexed" video.
  • The author, or veotagger, has the option of asking veotag to share the veotagged version of the video with the major search engines. This allows Web surfers everywhere to find the video (complete with clickable text) through search sites.
  • The veotagger can also share the special veotag.com URL directly with anyone or post it on, for instance, her own blog. People clicking on the veotag.com URL will then be able to see the video, and make use of the clickable text and guides, without needing to know the video's original URL.
  • When played, the video and the clickable text play side-by-side on the viewer's screen. Clicking on the text descriptions takes the viewer immediately to the corresponding scene.
  • The color of the annotations changes as the viewer goes through the video, letting her know where she is in the video.
